Cone heads / conical vessel ends · 锥形封头
Profile and terminology
A conical head connects a large circular end to a smaller circular end through a tapered profile. A specification needs both end diameters and the cone angle, rather than a single diameter.
GB/T 25198-2023 models: CNA / CSA / CDA
The inquiry tool includes CNA without flanging, CSA flanged at the large end, and CDA flanged at both ends. Enter the cone half-angle α, not the full included angle. Confirm knuckle radii and flange dimensions for the selected form against the project drawing.
What to include in your inquiry
Large-end inside diameter; small-end inside diameter; cone half-angle; nominal thickness; applicable flange lengths and knuckle radii; height; material grade; quantity.
Use millimetres for dimensions. Identify the exact material grade rather than only writing “steel” or “stainless steel”. You can also include edge preparation, inspection requirements, delivery needs and a drawing reference in the notes.

Drawing and design review
These descriptions identify geometry and information needed for an inquiry. They do not establish allowable pressure, certify compliance or replace a vessel design calculation. Confirm the applicable standard, drawing and final dimensions before ordering.
GB/T 25198-2023 — official standard referenceConical head and conical dished end dimensions
Conical heads and conical dished ends require more information than a single diameter. Clearly identify the large end, small end and end-transition geometry. A flanged cone and an unflanged cone have different drawing requirements.
| End diameters | Provide large-end and small-end diameters and their inside/outside basis. |
|---|---|
| Cone angle | State whether the drawing angle is the half angle or included angle; avoid an unlabeled angle. |
| Height and end transitions | Specify axial height, straight flanges and transition radii where applicable. |
| Thickness and material | Give nominal and minimum formed thickness together with the exact material grade. |
What is needed to quote a custom conical head?
Send the drawing, diameter basis, end dimensions, angle, flange arrangement, material grade and quantity. Include required inspection and edge preparation. Confirm any dimensions that cannot be fully represented in the online form by email.

How do I request a quotation?
Select a profile, enter the dimensions in millimetres, specify the material grade and quantity, and add drawing or inspection requirements. Generate an inquiry item and use the email button to prepare your message.
Which material should I specify?
Provide the exact grade required by your drawing, such as Q345R or S30408, rather than only stating carbon steel or stainless steel. Material availability, forming requirements and suitability for the intended service need confirmation for each project.
Does a GB/T profile imply ASME certification?
No. The GB/T 25198-2023 diagrams describe the profiles used by this inquiry tool. If a project requires another code, provide its designation and drawing for review; no ASME certification is claimed here.
